DYFFRYN Gardens in Vale of Glamorgan will be a hive of activity this half term.

With gardens the size of 28 football pitches, nature walks, science days, pig feeding and more you won’t run out of things to keep your family busy.

They’ve got lots on to keep big and little kids entertained. As part of their 50 things to do before you’re 11 and threequarters campaign you can go on two nature walks at night, discover bats after dark in the gardens and hunt for newts in the ponds, if you’re lucky you may see the rare and endangered Great Crested Newt.

Try your hand at croquet with a knock about on the international standard lawn with expert guidance from their very own Dyffryn croquet club team.

Have your kids got the science bug? Cardiff university students return for another Fascination of Plants Day. Extract DNA from strawberries, look at plants under a microscope and see some carnivorous plants in action.

Kate Simons, visitor experience manager at Dyffryn said: “We’ve got so many things for your family to do together this half term, whether it’s garden games on the great lawn, the biggest game of hide and seek ever or one of our organised events we take all the stress out of entertaining your kids. Bring them to Dyffryn and let us do the rest.”

Events are a mixture of pre-bookable, non-bookable, paid and free activities. For more information about these events please visit nationaltrust.org.uk/dyfrryn-gardens
