LIVE music returns to The Pilot, Queens Road, Penarth on Friday, June 24, with the appearance of guitar and vocal duo Nick Treharne and Geraint Williams.

Having moved to Penarth in 2003, Nick Treharne first began playing at the Sunday night jam session at The Pilot, an evening which attracted many musicians and was regarded as one of the best live music nights in Penarth.

He has since built up a steady following of supporters, establishing himself as an accomplished vocalist and acoustic performer and is a co-founder of the very successful Penarth Acoustic Club.

Cowbridge based Geraint Williams has his background in country/blues music and draws his influence from performers such as Jackson Brown and James Taylor. A popular contributor to acoustic evenings in Wales and the south east of England, his relaxed finger picking style and mellow vocals have been pleasing crowds throughout his career.

Individually accomplished as solo performers, both musicians have come together to blend their acoustic guitar skills and rich voices in perfect harmony. With a varied repertoire of songs that will be familiar to most, but which are often overlooked by other performers, the music is rhythmic, melodic and exhilarating.

From Stevie Wonder to Prefab Sprout and Mark Knopfler to Soft Cell, each song is crafted and delivered with energy, precision and passion.

Nick Treharne said: “It is fantastic to be able to play at The Pilot once again and great to see the management supporting live music. I have many great memories of playing there in the past and really hope to see many familiar faces once more”.

Entry to The Pilot, which features in the Michelin Eating Out in Pubs Guide 2016, is free, with the music commencing at 9pm.
