A NURSERY has said farewell to a "legend".

After 23 years of smiles and laughter at Bute Cottage Nursery, the staff, parents and children have said goodbye to June Evans and wished her good luck in her retirement.

Mrs Evans started working at Bute Cottage in 1992 as a nursery nurse and through the years has worked with hundreds of families.

Many of these families were in attendance to give her a great send-off on Tuesday, July 14, at a tea party hosted by the school.

In a week packed with events and farewells, Mrs Evans has been treated to many gifts and cards from children, parents and staff both past and present.

The staff presented her with some special jewellery and her own personalised Learning Journey scrapbook detailing her experiences and achievements over the years.

Mrs Evans said: "Diolch yn fawr iawn to all the staff, children, present and past parents for all their kind wishes, cards and presents.

"Their generosity was overwhelming and thank you all for attending her retirement celebration, making it a very memorable occasion. I will miss you all very much."
