Extracts from the Penarth Times of August 27, 1965:

The area adjacent to the Penarth boundary on the Penarth Road is rapidly filling up and bringing the built up area of the city to the Penarth boundary.

One of the latest developments on Penarth Road is a new warehouse for George Mason Ltd, the South Wales grocers, which will add considerably to the storage capacity of this expanding firm.

Two Penarth men who gave up their jobs with a Cardiff firm to go into partnership in their own boat building business two years ago, are now building their third cruiser for members of Penarth Yacht Club in their yard at Penarth Dock.

A party of 33 Russians (22 women and 11 men) with two interpreters were guests at Dinas Powis Methodist Youth House on Saturday evening. The members of the party were all associated with youth work in Russia and included teachers, architects, engineers and journalists.

Last Saturday's Fete, organised by the committee for the Llandough and Leckwith War Memorial Institute Building Fund in conjunction with the Llandough WI, raised about £100 towards the building funds.
