FRIENDS and Neighbours Senior Citizen Group went on their Annual Mystery Trip which was to Bowood House and Gardens in Wiltshire.

Despite the rain, well over 40 members of the group, that meet at Beryl Road Pioneer Hall on a monthly basis, enjoyed looking around the home of The Lansdowne Family since 1754 marvelling in the treasures in this magnificent Georgian House.

Among many unique items around the the house they spotted Queen Victoria's Wedding Chair, Keith Jewellery Collection and Napoleons Death Mask.

They were amazed at formal terraced flower beds which surrounded the mansion and the lake with an abundance of geese to be seen.

They enjoyed afternoon tea with scones, clotted cream and jam following their tour.

Many of the group enjoyed looking around the gift shop taking home a souvenir to mark the visit.

As they travelled back to Barry they chatted amongst themselves that they had enjoyed a memorable day and how different it was to have a day full of culture and how relaxing the day had been.
