A CRICKET club have told of their annoyance after a set of mowers were stolen.

Police confirmed that two Flymo lawnmowers were stolen from Vale Cricket Club in Corntown on November 29

Chairman of the club Gareth Andrews described the theft as a real nuisance for the club, which is run by volunteers.

“Hopefully these two get picked up and we get the mowers back,” said Mr Andrews.

Vale Cricket Club tweeted CCTV footage of the incident. The video shows two men walking in front of a CCTV camera before going up to a container door and shining a torch on it.

Police have urged anyone with any information to contact them as soon as possible.

A spokesperson said: “South Wales Police received a report of metal containers at the Vale Cricket Club being broken into.

“The locks on the containers were damaged and three Flymo lawnmowers were stolen.”

While Mr Andrews sounded frustrated over the phone he did have some perspective, saying there are bigger things to worry about.

“Look it’s not the end of the world,” added Mr Andrews, “we could have lost a lot more, but it is just an inconvenience at the end of the day.”
