MEMBERS of Cogan Coronation Club have raised more than £100 for the Marie Curie Hospice by taking part in a pool competition.

The pool competition was organised by Dave Jones for some of the senior members of the club, with each member agreeing to donate £1 per game to the Penarth hospice.

The competition was on a league basis, with the top four playing semi-final's, with Ronnie Norman and Roy Young taking each other on in the final last Friday, August 29.

In a very close final Roy Young was crowned the winner against the previously unbeaten Ronnie Norman.

Thanks to the eleven who entered the competition, to all club members who gave generously on the night, and a special mention for Mel Horwood who laid on another great buffet.

The eventual donation to Marie Curie was £135.
