ST CYRES School has been busy competing recently, with pupils being selected for Coaches of the Future.

Congratulations go to Year Nine and Year Seven and Eight Table Tennis teams who finished in second place in the recent Vale of Glamorgan 5x60 competition.

The boys will now go on to compete in the regional competition at the Welsh Institute of Sport.

Well done to the Year Seven girls’ and boys’ badminton teams who competed in the Vale of Glamorgan 5x60 competition. Both teams played exciting badminton in their first ever competition and finished third and fifth place overall.

Congratulations to Sixth Formers Devash Patel, Ben Bell and Kallum Clarke who were recently selected to join the Vale of Glamorgan’s Coaches of the Future programme.

The boys will receive training in leadership, first aid, disability and inclusion and a Level One qualification in a sport of their choice.

The boys have shown excellent coaching skills so far whilst helping with football and trampolining after school and will be helping out at local clubs at Christmas.

Well done goes to Bethan Salta and Jaime Watts on their selection as Silver Young Ambassadors. The pupils will receive training on how to promote sport at St Cyres and will assist the 5x60 officer in trying to get more pupils more active.
