BELLE Vue Bowling Club, Penarth recently played a friendly match against Rhiwbina in celebration of their centenary year.

An excellent crowd gathered to support both sides but Belle Vue eventually lost out to Rhiwbina with a loss of 64-91.

Belle Vue had one winning rick, one rink that drew and two which were defeated.

The winning rink was skipped by Dave Purser with a result of 19-17. Lead was Barrie Bagwell, second was Ray Patterson and third was Captain Richard Fitzjohn.

The Malcolm Thomas rink drew 20-20 with new player Fletch joining the team. Second was Gerald Thomas and third was Dave Miller and skipped by Malcolm Thomas.

The first losing rink was skipped by Paul Peterson with a result of 26-16. Frank Keene took the lead with new player Colin being in second and third was Trevor Ford.

Brian Morgan skipped the other team to suffer a defeat of 28-9.

Dave Smith took the lead with second Gordon Ford and third Alan Thomas.

The game was very friendly and was played in good company. Belle Vue Bowling Club is glad at establishing a life-long friendship with the Rhiwbina side.
