WOMEN Running Penarth, sponsored by Bar 44, will hold their 'All Soles' 5k/2k Family Fun Run at Cosmeston on June 7 at 11am.

The event is in aid of Breakthrough Breast Cancer and Breast Cancer Campaign, the UK’s leading charities who have joined forces to become the UK’s largest dedicated breast cancer research charity committed to ending the disease once and for all.

Erika Fitzgibbon, chairman of WRP, said: “We’re really looking forward to the event and hope whole families will come and enjoy the morning at Cosmeston.

"We have medals for all finishers and trophies for the overall female and male winners.

"We hope to raise lots of money for Breakthrough Breast Cancer and Breast Cancer Campaign as Bar 44 have sponsored the event and will offer 10 per cent to those who present their 'All Soles' medal."

Every year, almost 50,000 women in the UK receive the devastating news that they have breast cancer.

Breast cancer is the most common cancer in the UK.

One in eight women will face it, and nearly 700,000 people living in the UK today have experienced a diagnosis. More women than ever are getting the disease, and it is predicted that 185,000 lives will be lost to breast cancer by 2030.

Everyone affected by breast cancer deserves to see an end to the disease. That’s why Breast Cancer Campaign and Breakthrough Breast Cancer have joined forces to become the UK’s largest dedicated breast cancer research charity with a joint ambition that by 2050, no one will die from breast cancer.
